One of the most beloved photo spots for a day trip near Seoul is Dumulmeori Yangpyeong. The name ‘Dumulmeori’ (meaning ‘two-river head’) comes from the spot where the North and South Han Rivers meet and flow as one. A 400-year-old zelkova tree, a picture-frame photo spot that captures the whole river, a sailing boat, and early-morning river mist make it a regular filming location for K-dramas and commercials. Here is my honest review from visiting on June 17, 2026, plus everything on location, parking, photo spots, walking course and nearby food.

What Is Dumulmeori Yangpyeong?
Yangseo-myeon, Yangpyeong — Where the North & South Han Rivers Meet
Dumulmeoriis a riverside attraction in Yangsu-ri, Yangseo-myeon, Yangpyeong-gun, Gyeonggi-do. the confluence where the North and South Han Rivers meet in one place and flow on as a single Han River, so it long thrived as a ferry dock. Today it is a strolling spot that keeps the old ferry mood and a beloved signature-shot photo zone representing Yangpyeong. On site, Dumulmeori is a UN Tourism Best Tourism Village, marked by a sculpture announcing the designation — making it clear at a glance that this place is recognized by travelers at home and abroad.

The 400-Year Zelkova Tree — Symbol of Dumulmeori
What you can’t leave out when talking about Dumulmeori is the tree standing tall by the river — the over-400-year-old zelkova tree. Three trunks blend into one, and sitting on the round stone bench around it to gaze at the river and mountains beyond the tree, time seems to stop. A memorial stone engraved with Dumulmeori’s history sits in front, perfect for reading slowly while you rest.

Dumulmeori Picture-Frame Photo Spot — The Signature Shot
A Wooden Frame That Captures River and Mountains
The spot with the longest line at Dumulmeori is the picture-frame photo spot. A large wooden frame stands by the river, and when you step inside it, the North Han River and the mountain ridge across it look like a painting is captured. Stand close to the frame for a portrait inside the frame; step back for a framed landscape — just changing the composition gives a totally different photo. If you want that perfect shot, aim for early morning or a weekday when it’s less crowded.
💡 TIP: The picture-frame photo spot, around sunrise, river mistis at its most magical when it settles in. On spring and autumn dawns, mist rises over the river for dreamy photos — that’s why sunrise photographers gather with tripods.
Sailing Boat · River Mist · Lotus — Dumulmeori Scenery Highlights
Dumulmeori Sailing Boat (Hwangpo Dotbae)
By the river, the Dumulmeori Sailing Ship is moored with its yellow sail, alongside an information board. It recreates the boats that once crossed the Han River from the old ferry days, and adding a single yellow sail to the river scene brings photos to life. Think of the zelkova tree, the sailing boat, and the picture-frame spot as Dumulmeori’s three great photo points.

Lotus & Reed Waterside Deck and Semiwon
Around Dumulmeori, a waterside deck trail thick with lotus and reedscontinues. Walking the long wooden deck over the water, you take in the water, mountains and even the distant sailing boat at a glance. Right next to it, Semiwonis a garden famous for lotus, so in the July–August lotus season, pairing it with Dumulmeori is a popular course. During my visit, a banner for the Gyeonggi Jeongmyeong Culture Festival hung over the ‘Semiwon-Dumulmeori’ area, making me think it would be lovely to return during the autumn festival season.

Photo Zones & Street Stalls — Enjoy as You Stroll
Birdcage-Gate Photo Spot and Charming Props
Besides the picture-frame spot, Dumulmeori has many prop zones great for photos. A white birdcage-shaped gate photo spot, a fairytale-like space decorated with yellow chairs and rabbit objects, and more — backgrounds perfect for posting on social media keep coming. It would be a shame to only shoot the river view; it was great to wander slowly and add more shots.

Dumulmeori Stalls — Lotus Hot Dogs & Snack Street
On the path from the parking lot into the photo zones, a snack street of stalls including lotus-shaped ‘lotus hot dogs’has formed. The stalls blend with flower pots in full bloom for a homey feel, and it’s nice to grab a snack while strolling when you get peckish. Prices and operations vary by stall and season, so check on site.

💎 Key Points:
Dumulmeori takes about an hour to walk one big loopis enough. Going slowly in the order of zelkova tree → picture-frame spot → sailing boat → waterside deck → stalls makes a full course where you get photos and enjoy the walk.
My honest review
I went at midday in June, and thanks to the river breeze it was nicer to walk than expected. The picture-frame spot did have a line, but it moved fast so I didn’t wait long. a scene that captures water, mountains, tree and sailing boat in one framemade me immediately understand why it’s a regular filming location for dramas and commercials. It isn’t a place with fancy facilities, but being able to find such a riverside view just an hour from Seoul is Dumulmeori’s greatest charm.
