Hantangang Y-Bridge — Honest Guide to Pocheon's Canyon Suspension Bridge (Hours, Parking, 4 Photo Spots)

By Seoul Note

The hottest spot in Pocheon, Gyeonggi these days is none other than Hantangang Y-Bridge. It's a brand-new suspension bridge that crosses the Hantan River canyon in the shape of the letter Y. With a see-through grated floor, the thrill is off the charts, and you can take in the stunning scenery of the Hantan River UNESCO Global Geopark all at once. Based on my own June 2026 visit, here's an honest review covering location, parking, hours, admission, time needed, photo spots and nearby courses, all in one go.

What is the Hantangang Y-Bridge?

A brand-new suspension bridge crossing the Hantan River canyon in a Y shape

Hantangang Y-Bridgeis a Y-shaped pedestrian suspension bridge over the Hantan River in Pocheon, Gyeonggi. As the name suggests, the bridge splits into two branches at one point — the Y-shaped structureis the biggest highlight. One branch leads to the riverside on the far bank, the other to a viewing deck, so you can look down on the Hantan River canyon from both sides. The Hantan River area is the Hantan River UNESCO Global Geopark, so the columnar joints and river views you see from the bridge are truly exceptional.

💎 Key Points:
Part of the bridge floor is a steel-grating floor, so you can see the canyon right beneath your feet. If you have a fear of heights it can feel a bit dizzying, but that's exactly what guarantees the thrill and the perfect shot. Hold the handrail wire and walk slowly — anyone can cross it.

Location, Parking & Getting There

Right next to the parking lot — start at the glass-walled entrance

When you park your car, right next to it is a glass-walled passage entrance, so it's very easy to find. Pass through this passage and you're immediately connected to the bridge approach. On your navigation, searching for Hantangang Y-Bridge or Hantangang Haneul Bridge / Bidulginang Falls will guide you to a nearby parking lot. Since it's in the Pocheon Hantan River area, it pairs nicely with nearby spots like Bidulginang Falls and the Hantangang Haneul Bridge.

Crossing it myself — is it really that scary?

Passing through the glass passage and onto the approach, the bridge crossing the distant Hantan River canyon comes into full view. Orange piers, silver wires and a blue sky come together so beautifully that photos turn out great from the moment you step on. Even on a weekday afternoon, families and couples were steadily crossing the bridge.

The grated-floor section — the thrill of seeing right through your feet

What impressed me most was, of course, the steel-grating floor section. With every step, you look straight down at the Hantan River canyon and the brush below. Your legs wobble at first, but hold the handrail wire and after a few steps you quickly adjust. When the wind blows the bridge sways a little — and that's the very charm of a suspension bridge.

💡 TIP: For the grated-floor section, rather than heeled shoes, sneakers or flatsare safer and more comfortable. If you drop your phone or belongings through the grating they're hard to recover, so bring a wrist strap or case lanyard when taking photos.

The Y-junction — this bridge's signature

As you walk along the bridge, the path the Y-junction where it splits into two branches. From above, the letter Y is clearly visible, and that's exactly what sets this bridge apart from other suspension bridges. Standing at the junction and looking back and forth at the canyons on each side, the scenery feels completely different even though it's the same Hantan River.
